low-fat vegan meals & sweet treats.
How we got started: Once upon a time, in a land far, far away (called New Jersey), a spunky, 7 year old know-it-all blond-haired little girl met a 9 year old "wise beyond his ears,” charismatic home-schooled little boy. They became friends and the little girl learned about this weird way that the boy ate. But she didn't care about that, so long as he played tag & went swimming with her. Why should she care about his diet? It never concerned her! That was her first introduction to veganism. The boy ended up moving away when they were teens & she was heartbroken.
Fast forward many years. The little girl turned into a young lady & all the while, she thought a lot about the boy she used to have so much fun with on the boardwalk. She turns 22, still spunky, getting ready to graduate college, and decides she’s going to find him. She does…and finds out that he’s thought about her too! She travels to Las Vegas to visit him after college. As soon as she arrives, they fall madly in love and without a second thought, she relocates so they can make a life together.
After a few years in Las Vegas, they decide they are tired of working with people who don’t work hard and under people who don’t appreciate them & they decide to start their own business together. But what should they do? They both care about health, love talking to people & she loves to cook and has spent the past 7 years learning to cook vegan (then later, no oil) for him. (It can take a long time, lots of practice & patience to make yummy AND healthy vegan food!)
On April 13, 2011, we officially opened Veg Out. It is our work project & our livelihood, to which we put so much love, time & effort. We hope you decide to join us, try our deliciously addictive vegan food & maybe share your stories so we may all learn from one another! There is never any judgment at Veg Out. We appreciate diversity in all forms. There is never any need to explain or feel uncomfortable. Veg Out is a safe place for all to come & relax so bring a friend, your reusable mugs & bags and come hang out with us!
